I continue my April Andalucian Odyssey in 2025 with 4 painting mornings in Sensational Seville followed by 4 more painting mornings in Captivating Cordoba.
Both locations are an absolute feast for the eyes of the watercolourist, never mind the brilliant food and wine.
You can come along to either or both.
22nd April, Fly to Seville
27th April Train to Cordoba
2nd May Train to Seville and fly back to UK
In Seville we will be staying in one of the many lovely small hotels in the heart of Seville old town, so little walking required. The place we are staying will be announced in due course, but you are of course also free to stay wherever you wish.
In Cordoba we will once more be staying at the amazing Las Casas de la Judería de Córdoba, a wonderful hotel in the heart of the old town and within an easy walk of all our painting locations.
My fee for each retreat is £140.
Between 6.30pm and 7.30pm we meet for ‘Sangria Time’ where we review work and talk about the next days painting. As always, non painting partners and friends are very welcome.
You organise your own accomodation and travel.
Please email me if interested and I’ll pencil in your name, no deposit is required and you can change your mind.
Here’s a message from Architect and Artist Paul Rothera who kindly supported me with the morning en plein air tuition and the ‘Sangria time’ work appraisals.
“I joined Frank for his first retreat in Juan Les Pins last year which was brilliant. This time Frank invited me to support him with his large group of students in Córdoba. It was an amazing experience. Firstly, the location and hotel were excellent and, frankly, it would be a hard task to better them. We were blessed with fantastic weather, which always helps. The group were quick to learn and there was a recognisable improvement in the students paintings throughout the week. It was all quite informal which made it very relaxing”.
And here is what my students had to say…
“Hotel was lovely, the locations superb and the group very friendly and relaxed.” Andrew & Sarah Dawson
“Frank organised and tutored a wonderful painting holiday in Cordoba. The location was stunning and the tutoring was excellent with painters of different styles and experience all supported and encouraged to develop and improve. Non-painting partners were warmly welcomed and catered for” Frances Green
"Another painting retreat in an awesome location. Frank makes learning the difficult art of watercolours in absolutely stunning surroundings a social and friendly endeavour. He is happy to guide even the most junior of artists, and has an uncanny knack for making it look easy" Anne Billard
“Wonderful holiday and location. Thank you for all your advice and support and look forward to painting Provence”. Anne Bizzey
“ Cordoba is one of Spain’s historic and beautiful cities. It was a superb location for a painting holiday and the hotel accommodation was located in the old town and very centrally situated. Even on the one rainy day we managed to paint the beautiful courtyards in the hotel. Everyone on the course was friendly and Frank’s personal tuition gave me confidence in painting en plein air. Thank you for a memorable week.” Jackie Grant
“1st Class guidance & Inspirational location”. Carole Young
“Watercolour painting in Cordoba was a real treat! I loved the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of our group. The painting venues and tutoring were excellent - thanks Frank!” Carol Marriott
My watercolour retreats are fairly unique compared to mainstream organised painting retreats. Mine are designed to give you affordability and freedom. You organise your own travel, food and accomodation, you only pay me for your morning painting sessions, the rest of the time is free to do your own thing. It’s designed for grown ups who don’t want painting intensity, but would rather have time to explore and enjoy their holiday.
